My name is Ragil Pembayun and I am a Freelance Technical SEO Consultant based in York, United Kingdom. Thanks for taking the time to visit this page and to find out more about how I can help you and your business.
I promise I won’t bore you to death with industry jargon and terminology – I have no interest in confusing you to make myself look smarter (there are enough people like that in the SEO industry already!) I am here to make your life easier: to help you get the traffic your website deserves, so that you can increase your organic visibility and reach more potential customers.
A little background
I started working in SEO when the industry was still relatively young. I first became acquainted with the SEO industry back in 2009. My wife, Lucy, and I founded an online fair trade shop, which was created as an outlet to support marginalised fair trade producers in Indonesia by selling their products to the UK market.
My curiosity and a keen interest in getting the website to appear at the top of the search engine results for relevant search queries motivated me to learn more about SEO. I decided to teach myself the basics and then had the opportunity to further develop my skills within a professional setting during my first agency experience at Stickyeyes in early 2010. Everybody has to start from somewhere, right?
Sadly, our fair trade business only lasted a short while due to the time constraints of working full-time as an off-site SEO. It was a great experience and without it, I probably wouldn’t have found my passion and drive to learn all about SEO.
Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work in different roles at various agencies in and around Leeds and Sheffield. Subsequently, I had an in-house stint for a couple of years as an SEO Manager for a health and fitness supplement brand in Leeds. Currently, I work as a Senior SEO Consultant at Slingshot Organic and as such, I have a wealth of experience in agency and client-side environments.

Outside of the SEO world, you may spot my tired, struggling face at the York Parkrun on a Saturday. It’s probably not hard to do either, as I run at a snail’s pace. Feel free to say hello or connect with me on Strava.
I also like road cycling and if you happen to go out on a long weekend bike ride in the Howardian Hills or in and around the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, then spot the cyclist who mainly stays at the back of a peloton, as that would probably be me!
